Choosing a crock pot
or any slow cooker could boggle your mind. As is the case with everything out there ~ crock pots and slow cookers are no exception! So many to choose from and such a wide variety of sizes, colors, finished, weights, qualities, etc., where do you start?
First think of how you will use yours. If you have a large family and/or entertain a lot you’ll want to choose a 5 – 7 quart size or even more than one unit. Seems as though all the least expensive crocks and cookers are made of inferior quality materials and I personally would not want to take the chance on having mine fail on the first or second use, especially during a holiday or special occasion party. Also higher quality ‘anythings’ do last longer, look and feel much more sturdy and typically come with a better warranty.
As a full time working mom, I like many of my appliances to have the option of pre-setting on and off timers. This is especially helpful when planning upcoming events or just planning your evening in the morning!
Finding crock pot cooking recipes and full crock pot meals or slow cooker meals is so easy ~ on line, any cookbook, your mom or the neighbor. Whether doing crock pot beef roast, pork roast or some poultry, you’ll become an expert after only a few attempts at making up your own crock pot meals.
